Team
The people building a community-owned internet
VONet is powered by people. Our team includes volunteers, directors, and an advisory council, all working together to create a fair, community-run network across Las Vegas.
There are no corporate titles or hierarchies here. Everyone plays a role, and everyone helps shape the direction of the project.
Volunteers
The heart of VONet. Volunteers help with everything from installing rooftop equipment to hosting workshops, writing documentation, handling outreach, and keeping things running behind the scenes.
Visit Volunteer Roles to learn how you can get involved.
Directors
Directors coordinate the project’s day-to-day efforts and help guide its long-term growth. They support planning, fundraising, technical deployment, and community relationships.
- Jacob Kukuk – Founder and Executive Director
The Director(s) work closely with volunteers and the advisory council to make sure the network stays aligned with VONet’s mission and the principles of the Network Commons License.
Advisory Council
The Advisory Council is a group of trusted community members who provide input on major decisions, ensure accountability, and help shape the long-term vision of VONet.
Council members are elected by the community and serve staggered terms. Their role is to reflect the needs and ideas of the people who rely on the network.
Our Approach
Everything we do is open and collaborative. Whether you're running cable, writing code, or just spreading the word, you're helping build something bigger than a network—you're building public infrastructure that belongs to everyone.
We follow the Network Commons License, which keeps the project open, neutral, and community-led.
